Update: This story has been updated to reflect the dinners that will be provided at the March 16 event.

The stage is nearly set for Newtown High School’s spring musical production of Footloose, which has performances slated for March 17 to 20, in the school’s auditorium, 12 Berkshire Road.

The musical, similar to the popular motion picture, takes place in a small town where dancing has been banned.

Performance dates and times are Thursday, March 17, to Sunday, March 20, at 7 pm, and a 2 pm performance is set for Saturday, March 19.

General admission is $20, students and seniors is $15. The musical is being performed on the stage in the high school’s auditorium, 12 Berkshire Road.

A final dress rehearsal is also set for Wednesday, March 16, as a free performance for senior citizens in the community. The NHS PTSA will offer dinners for the evening’s guests at 5 pm and the performance will begin at 6 pm. The event is being presented by the school’s PTSA and attendees are asked to RSVP by calling NHS at 203-426-7646.
