Zen Mind In Dragon Body

BETHEL — Enrollment is beginning now for the spring session of health and martial arts classes to be taught by Master C.H. Ch’En of Taiwan at Hsimagado US Taoch’ang, 71 Stony Hill Plaza. The weekly schedule will be as follows:

Chinese Kung Fu, Tuesday, 6:30 to 8:30 pm: Stretches and strengthens muscles, improves internal health, and establishes healthy posture. For quiet mind in responsive body, with vigorous disciplined spirit.

Chinese Kung Fu, Tuesday, 6:30 to 8:30 pm: Encompasses Pa Kua, T’ai Chi, and Hsing Yi systems. Cultivates vital energy (Ch’i), develops flexibility, concentration, and awareness, with stillness and clarity of spirit.

T’ai Chi Ch’uan, Ch’en Style, Thursday, 6:30 to 8:30 pm, and Union Style, Sunday, 10 am to noon: Both martial art and Taoist Yoga, T’ai Chi Ch’uan trains the body and mind to be pliant, natural, and relaxed. Returns the spine to healthful alignment, releases chronic tension from muscles.

Children’s classes will be offered each Tuesday and Thursday, from 4 to 5 pm. Traditional foundation forms of Shaolin Kung Fu will be available for ages 5 to 14, which promotes good posture, flexibility, strength, agility, and endurance. The class is for healthy development of the whole child, with emphasis on respect, kindness, integrity, and perseverance.

Master Ch’en personally instructs every class. Ch’i Kung and health applications are taught in all classes. Beginners through advanced students are welcome. For information including class fees, contact the Hsimgado office at 775-5829.
