A Quiet Angel

To the Editor:

Newtown is full of love. That fact was never more evident to me than since my husband died, February 23.

I want to thank all of you who sent cards, food, called to reassure me, and who shared the celebration of Don’s life.

There are many to thank, but there is one person who came to me immediately and stayed with me until Mr Honan removed the body and family arrived. She prayed with me, and she held my hand, just as she had done through Don’s innumerable surgeries. That was the Rev Janice Touloukian, associate minister at Newtown Congregational Church, and my friend. She shared the funeral services with the Rev Lee Moore, interim minister at NCC, and gave the final farewell to my husband, who had also called her his friend. She is a quiet angel that has always been there for us and I want the public to know just how loving, caring, and selfless this lady is. Thank you, God, for sending her to us.

Yours truly,

Darlene Jackson
