ATV Rider Charged With Three Offenses

While traveling on Glen Road in Sandy Hook about 6 pm March 14, police spotted a 17-year-old boy driving an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) northward on the road.

Police said that the youth failed to stop for police when signaled to do so, adding that the youth nearly collided with another northbound vehicle.

The unidentified youth then fled from the area on the ATV, police said.

The youth was later located at his residence and was arrested on charges of engaging police in pursuit, reckless driving, and driving an unregistered ATV on a public road.

Because the youth is under age 18, he is considered a “youthful offender” and his identity is concealed by police and the court.

After arrest processing, the youth was released on $200 bail for a March 31 appearance in Danbury Juvenile Offender Court.
