Charles E. Marshall, Sr, 81, of Wolcott, died March 8 at the Haven Health Care Center in Waterbury after a brief illness. He was the husband of Gloria (Renner) Marshall. Mr. Marshall was born March 27, 1924, in New York, son of David and Margaret (Lumb) Marshall.
Besides his wife of 25 years, he is survived by six stepdaughters, Lisa Simoes of Sandy Hook, Lydia Goldarbit of Lebanon, Darlene Colon of Danbury, Donna Dean of Wolcott, Doreen Dean of Oxford, and Sharon LeDuc of Wolcott; four sons, David of Woodbury, Charles of Bethlehem, Michael of Watertown, and Daniel of Buffalo, N.Y.; two daughters, Cathy Heitzman of Pennsylvania and Marjorie Marshall of Torrington; two stepsons, Richard Dean of Cheshire and Kenneth Dean of Suffield; one sister, Ruth Ashby of Danbury; 11 grandchildren; 15 step-grandchildren; five nephews and three nieces. A sister, Dorothy Farrell, of Florida, preceded him in death.
Mr Marshall lived in the Woodbury and Southbury area for most of his life, moving to Wolcott eight years ago. He retired from O&G Industries in 1995. He was a veteran of the US Army, serving during World War II. Mr Marshallâs hobbies included gardening.Â
Burial will be held at a later date in South Britain Cemetery.
