Michael Powers and Alyson Harris

Richard and Patricia Harris of Newtown announce the engagement of their daughter, Alyson Harris, to Michael Powers, son of Beatrice Powers and the late Ralph James Powers of Brookfield. A party in honor of the couple was held recently at Roberto’s Restaurant in Monroe.

Ms Harris is a 1998 graduate of Newtown High School and also of the University of Connecticut Neag School of Education. She is a middle school teacher in Danbury.

Mr Powers graduated from Mamaroneck High School in New York in 1993 and from the University at Buffalo and Iona College. He is also a middle school teacher in Danbury.

A July 2007 wedding is planned.
