Syd Steinfeld

Former Newtown Resident

Syd Steinfeld, 92, of West Hartford and formerly Newtown, loving wife for 42 years of the late David L. Steinfeld, died March 12. She was born in New York City, daughter of Samuel and Ethel Hammerman.

Mrs Steinfeld is survived by a brother, Maury Hammond of Boca Raton, Fla.; her two sons, Alvin and Mark Steinfeld and their wives Deena and Barbara; her two daughters, Rhoda Shiff and Ina Harel of Israel and their husbands Menachem and Yossi; 15 grandchildren, including Elana Doron of Simsbury; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Rabbi David Small of Emanuel Synagogue, West Hartford, officiated at a service March 14 at the Abraham L. Green and Son Funeral Home, Fairfield, with internment at Hebrew Sick Cemetery in Fairfield.

The family wants to thank the staff of the Hebrew Home for their kind and loving care.
