BLUE DEVILS 56, NORWALK 21: Joey DeVellis and Jack Quinn powered a balanced offensive attack, scoring nine points apiece to lead the Blue Devils to a first-round win in the Ridgefield Tournament. Mike Kennedy and Tad Pierson combined for 15 points while Brian Conroy, Kevin Regan, Joe Bowen and Ryan McGrath combined for another 20.
BLUE DEVILS 38, ST. MARYâS 30: Trailing by one at the half, the Blue Devils stepped up their man-to-man defense and defeated St. Maryâs by eight points. Ryan McGrath and Joey DeVellis had nine points each and combined for 10 steals. Kevin Regan netted seven points and Brian Conroy chipped in with four. Conroy dominated the boards, pulling down 12 rebounds.
BLUE DEVILS 39, DANBURY LIONS 37: In their most exciting game of the year, the Blue Devils held on to defeat Danbury and earn a spot in the tournament semi-finals on March 22. Kevin Regan scored 16 points (10 of those in the fourth quarter) and pulled down 16 rebounds in a spectacular double-double performance that led Newtown to the win. Michael Kennedy had eight points and Jack Quinn chipped in with four. Joey DeVellis dished out four assists and Justin Miller had four steals. Joe Bowen and Ryan McGrath both had good floor games for the Blue Devils, who raised their record to 23-4.

NEWTOWN 53, GUILFORD 41: Danny Smith and Greg Rodden combined for 24 points to lead Newtown to the win. Kevin Troy, Jason Smith, Michael Maher and Danny Giorno also combined for 24 points. PJ Cochrane and Jared Modzelewski led the defensive effort.
EAST HAVEN 32, NEWTOWN 26: Danny Smith scored 12 points, but Newtown dropped its first game in the double-elimination tournament. Jason Smith and Greg Rodden combined for 10 points. PJ Cochrane dragged down eight rebounds. Danny Giorno, Bobby Lapple and Kevin Troy were strong on defense.
ULBRICH 32, NEWTOWN 15: Newtown was eliminated from tournament action with a loss to Ulbrich of Wallingford. Danny Smith scored nine points while PJ Cochrane, Michael Maher and Greg Rodden played well. Kevin Troy grabbed 12 rebounds while Danny Giorno, Bobby Lapple and Jared Modzelewski sparked the defense.
