NEW YORK CITY, New York â At its first media day ever, officials of the new Major League Lacrosse (MLL) announced the names, logos and venues of the leagueâs six initial franchises . . . as well as local and national television packages and corporate sponsorship partners.
The media day, which served as the leagueâs official launch, was held at the Hudson Hotel in New York City. MLL founder Jake Steinfeld, along with league officials, team owner-operators, players, a television representative and corporate sponsorship partners, unveiled the details in front of the media.
âThe announcements made today put Major League Lacrosse on the professional sports map and our voice will be heard loud and clear for a long time,â said Jake Steinfeld, CEO of Body by Jake Enterprises. âThis league will give sports fans an opportunity to witness the very best lacrosse players in the game, at venues that keep fans close to the action and at a price that is affordable for the entire family. With only three months remaining before the opening game, the dream of bringing professional outdoor lacrosse to the United States is now a reality.â
