Library Cuts Would Be 'A Crime'
Library Cuts Would Be âA Crimeâ
To the Editor:
It has come to my attention that the library budget may be cut. I must say that is a crime. Everyone in our town benefits from the library in one way or the other. The C.H. Booth Library is a place where young and old alike can gather together without any quarrelling. Our town library is not only a great place to grow up in but it funds many important programs.
I am a member of the Young Adult Council. If the budget is cut then there is a significant chance that our program may end. The Y.A. Council has been running programs that have been increasing interest of literature to teenagers. We have run some townwide events like The Poetry Slam, the Harry Potter Party, and Dr Seussâs Birthday Party that have been very successful. Each month we meet to discuss books, poems, and events that will increase the interest of teenagers to the library. We also have a lot of fun thanks to our great leader, Margaret Brown, who has brought us together. I beg you to not let the budget be cut. If the budget is cut then many of our youth will go back to doing nothing but sitting home and watching TV. That would be a crime.
Sincerely,
