Wednesday, April 25 â âA New Way to Watch TV,â with Greg Van Antwerp, Public Access Supervisor, Charter Communications.

These programs are free of charge; limit 10 students per class.
4-H: Wednesdays, 4-5:30 pm. Harvest your own flowers and vegetables in a garden plot you design yourself! Help us build a Butterfly Plant Nursery, a Childrenâs Theme Garden, and a Chicken and Rabbit Garden. Plant a row for the hungry in our garden and bring your pet to our pet show. We meet at NYS, so come and join us.
You must call Newtown Youth Services, 270-4335, to sign up for all programs. This is for grades 6, 7, and 8.
PROGRAMS FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
âCops and Docsâ â Presented by Officer Gladys Pisani, NPD; Barbara Reilly, RN; and Joyce LaForte, RN â Wednesday, April 11 â 5:30 pm at Newtown Youth Services. This is a national alternative violence prevention program presented by the police and medical professionals. Purpose: to help high school students to become more aware and learn effective ways to protect themselves and their friends. Please RSVP to NYS at 270-4335.
ACTS NEEDED â NYCAAP/HS YAB Talent Show for students and teachers! To be held on Wednesday, April 25 â Newtown High School. Auditions will be held three different times â one right after school, one around 5 pm, and one evening. Please call NYS for audition information.
YOUTH GROUP MEETINGS
THE HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH ADVISORY BOARD (HS YAB) â Will meet on Monday, March 26, from 5:30 to 6:30 pm.
MIDDLE SCHOOL YOUTH ADVISORY BOARD (MS YAB) Ââ Meeting will be held at 8 am on Tuesday, April 3. Breakfast will be served! Big project upcoming to discuss.
NYCAAP will meet on Tuesday, March 27. Meeting time is 5:30 to 6:30 pm.
