Zimmermann To Be Guest Author At Spring 2022 Woman’s Club Author Luncheon

Newtown author, artist, and librarian Andrea Zimmermann will be the guest speaker at the “Meet the Author” luncheon on Saturday, April 9, at noon, at Newtown Country Club, 2 Country Club Road.

The event, sponsored by Newtown Woman’s Club, is the latest in a series of programs that introduces the community to the work of local authors.

Zimmermann will discuss her latest book, released in October, A Legacy of Lies: A Rock Ridge Mystery, a novel set in a small Connecticut town. She is currently working on another book in the Rock Ridge series.

Zimmermann also has published The Great Danbury State Fair (published in 2015), a look at the spectacle held every fall from 1869 until 1981; The Case Files of Detective Laszlo Briscoe: True Crime in Newtown 1889-1933 (2008), which chronicles 63 crimes perpetrated in town during the title’s era, presented by the fictional detective Laszlo Briscoe; and Eleanor Mayer’s History of Cherry Grove Farm (2005), the history of a celebrated three-generation family farm in Newtown. She has also participated as an interviewer and editor in the development of other books.

Zimmermann is well-known in the Newtown area. She was a feature writer and reporter for The Newtown Bee, a freelance feature writer for The New York Times Connecticut Weekly section and other regional publications. She was also a reference librarian, grant writer, and archivist at C.H. Booth Library for 14 years. She is currently a volunteer archivist for Newtown.
