Sandy Hook DUI

Police said motorist Mark P. Shashinka, 46, of Shelton was driving a 1986 Buick Century sedan eastbound on Washington Avenue in Sandy Hook about 12:18 am March 22 when while rounding a curve to the left, he drove off the right side of the road and struck several posts.

Police said Shashinka failed field sobriety tests. Police charged him with driving under the influence and making a restricted turn.

After processing, police released Shashinka for an April 5 arraignment in Danbury Superior Court.
