Terence Michael McGuinness died peacefully at the age of 51, on March 19, 2023, in Sarasota, Florida. Terence is survived by his mother, Veronica McGuinness, of Sarasota, Fla., and sister, Shannon Duffield (Craig), of Fairfield, Conn. He is preceded in death by his father, Terence J. McGuinness, of Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Terence was born on July 5, 1971, in Yonkers, N.Y., to Veronica and Terence McGuinness. The family moved to Newtown, Connecticut, where he attended St Rose of Lima School and went on to graduate from Immaculate High School in 1989. An avid golfer, he left Connecticut for the manicured courses of South Carolina. From there he bounced up and down the east coast before settling in Florida to be close to his mother.

As far as his family and friends are concerned, Terry died too soon. Intermittently a friend of Bill W’s, he was a fierce and persistent fighter who lived every day of his life as fully as he could. He will be fondly remembered by friends and family for his golf game, smile, offbeat sense of humor, and infectious laughter. He will be deeply missed but can finally rest without pain in Heaven.

A Celebration of Life will be held later for Terence at the family’s convenience.
