Occupation: Â I have been a financial planner since 1986 with my company, AdvisorsOne LLC in Danbury. I earned a bachelor of science degree in psychology at Sacred Heart University. I also received my CFP designation at Adelphi University, and hold state and federal licenses in securities, life, and health.
How Long in Newtown: I have lived in Newtown since 1973. Previously, I lived in Fairfield.
Biggest Change Seen in Town: The growth.
Family: My wife, Joann, and I have been married for 30 years. We have two daughters, Morgan, 16, a junior at Newtown High School, and Kelley, 14, who is a freshman.
Pets: We have a golden retriever, Merlin, who is 6 years old.
Hobbies: Golf. Iâm also involved in my childrenâs sports.
Favorite Books and Authors: I like to read, especially mysteries, detective, and science fiction books. Some authors I like are Dean Koontz and Stephen King.
Favorite TV Show: OâReilly Factor, a conservative talk show that has political discussions, and Squawk Box, a financial show.
Organizations: Financial Planning Association and St Rose Church. I devote myself to my work and my girls so I donât have much spare time.
Most Vivid Memory of Newtown: This probably would be when I drive into Newtown and see the flag lit up at night. It makes me feel good about the town. It always leaves me with a strong impression. Reflecting back, I remember Lee Davenson, who was involved with me in the Jaycees. He was the director of Parks and Rec, and was very active in the town. One time I remember he was dressed up in a gorilla outfit and stood on the steps of Edmond Town Hall to promote a parade. That had to be in the late 70s or early 80s. He died young. I thought he would have been a great leader. He was one of those great guys. We were involved in Jaycees early on.
Favorite Vacation Spot: West Palm Beach, Fla. I go there twice a year. I enjoy golfing there. My daughters are involved in AAU basketball, so during May, June, and July we travel to tournaments. Both of my daughters play on national AAU teams so we travel around the eastern United States with them. We were in Philadelphia five times, Orlando, Missouri, and Texas. Vacations are with our children.
Personal Philosophy: I try to treat others as I would want them to treat me. Basically, my priorities are my family and my work, and I think itâs my responsibility to dedicate whatever time is necessary to my daughters to make them productive and good human beings. Thatâs very important. Itâs important to be be honest and ethical and to work hard and play hard.
