DellaCorte

Gloria A. DellaCorte, 80, of Monroe, died March 21, surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 1, 1931, in Jersey City, N.J., to Blanche (Fitzhenry) and Charles Witzmann.

Mrs DellaCorte is survived by her three children, including Richard DellaCorte, and his wife Melissa, of Newtown, her caregiver David Thayer, her five grandchildren, many dear friends and sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews. Her husband of 53 years, Joseph, and a brother, Carl Witzmann, predeceased Mrs DellaCorte.

Her family remembers her as the most wonderful mother, sister, and friend. She will be missed by all who knew her.

The family wishes to thank the staffs of Carolton Hospital of Fairfield and Spring Meadows of Trumbull, Dr Benjamin Weisman, Dr Neal Fischbach, and the staffs of The Connecticut Hospice and Griswold Special Care for the exemplary care given to Mrs DellaCorte.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, March 26, at 10 am, at St Stephen’s Church, Trumbull. Interment will followed at Resurrection Cemetery, Newtown. Visitation will be Sunday, March 25, from 4 to 8 pm, at the Spadaccino and Leo P. Gallagher & Son Community Funeral Home, Route 111, Monroe.
