*Last week I was able to tell you about a new Live Nation concert venue opening up in Connecticut and this week I have to let you know about the closing of another venue.

Georgetown Saloon owner Nancy Silverman announced on Tuesday that her business has officially closed.

The business had been in Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings since June 2011.

*KISS and MÖTLEY CRÜE announced on Tuesday a summer outing they are calling simply The Tour, which will hit more than 40 cities nationwide including Hartford as its closing stop on September 23. If you have interest in doing a little traveling, the bands will actually be in Mansfield, Mass., on September 16, before heading into Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York and then circling back into Connecticut.

Tickets for the Comcast Theatre show in Hartford (and other locations) have been selling through fan club pre-sales since Wednesday, and the rest of the world will have a chance at tickets beginning Friday at 10 am. Tickets are $36 for a lawn seat or rear pavilion area, $56.50 for a reserved seat in the mid pavilion area, and $157 for a VIP Package that includes lower pavilion seating, and all will be available through LiveNation.com.

*Tickets for a June 16 CROSBY, STILLS & NASH show at the Oakdale Theatre in WallinGford will be going on sale next Friday (March 30), priced from $46 to $76.

Announcement of an extensive US summer tour, beginning early June in Philadelphia and continuing through the end of September on the West Coast, comes on the heels of their Australia/New Zealand and South American tours.

A nice note: CSN will be donating $1 from each ticket sold on the U.S. Summer Tour to “charity,” according to a press release this week. I cannot find information on which charity, however.

In addition, special benefit seats will be available for purchase through The Guacamole Fund (www.guacfund.org), so it is possible that all money from the regular seats will also be going toward The Guacamole Fund, which has, since 1973, “been helping to coordinate events for organizations that work in the public interest … supporting grass roots activities, with education, outreach, networking and funding, in the areas of the environment and wildlife, social change, peace with justice, energy and a non nuclear future,” according to the fund’s website.

*The 17th Annual Gathering of the Vibes Festival will celebrate its 17th year, and its eighth return to Seaside Park in Bridgeport, July 19-22.

Organizers will announce this year’s artists on April 2, but I figured I would at least share the dates for those who want to mark your calendars now.

I’ll keep you posted, of course.

Until next week, I’ll be seeing you… on the road.
