A New Beginning For

America And Germany?

DANBURY — Dr Werner Schmidt will offer a lecture, “German-American Relations: A New Beginning in An Old Marriage?” on Tuesday, April 4, at Western Connecticut State University. The lecture will be in the university’s Alumni Hall, at 181 White Street (Route 6), and will begin at 6:30 pm.

Admission is free.

Dr Schmidt, from the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany, will focus his lecture on the previously close German-American ties which were damaged after President Bush and Chancellor Schroeder locked horns over the 2003 Iraq War. He is also expected to discuss the change in political climate and the possibility of future changes.
