Air Duct Cleaning Company Going Out Of Business
Hartford â Attorney General Richard Blumenthal warned consumers that an air duct cleaning company under investigation is closing its Manchester office.
Mr Blumenthalâs office urged any consumers who have outstanding contracts with Quality Air Services or Elite Services, a related carpet cleaning company, to contact his office. Mr Blumenthalâs office is currently prosecuting a criminal case against a salesman for Quality Air Services for alleged illegal sales tactics.
In addition to prosecuting the criminal case pending against a Quality Air Services salesman â Richard F. Gray â the state is continuing to investigate the companyâs sales tactics.
Blumenthal learned today that the New York-based company is closing its office at 135-C Sheldon Road, Manchester. He said that he will monitor the situation to protect consumers.
âWe are scrutinizing this company at every level â from employee to management â and will make use of any legal tool necessary to protect consumers,â Mr Blumenthal said. âThe investigation into predatory sales tactics is continuing aggressively, in cooperation with the Department of Consumer Protection. We have received numerous complaints against Quality Air Services â all involving classic cases of bait-and-switch. Consumers seek a service for a certain price â a price that would balloon to unconscionable and unacceptable levels.â
Consumers with outstanding contracts with Quality Air Services and Elite Services should call the Attorney Generalâs office at 860-808-5400.
