Frank McCourt To Speak Locally

SOUTHBURY — On Monday, April 3, author Frank McCourt will be the featured guest at the Southbury Book Talk, where he will speak about his latest book, Teacher Man.

Mr McCourt was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. When he was four years old he moved with his family to Limerick, Ireland, where he grew up in poverty, as was recalled in his book Angela’s Ashes.

In time, he returned to the United States and began teaching. His subsequent books, Tis and Teacher Man, reflect those experiences.

Copies of Teacher Man will be for sale, and Mr McCourt will be happy to autograph them.
