Toddy Hill Road

Motorist Jeffrey Mayone, 23, of Fairfield, who was driving a 1998 Acura sedan southward on Toddy Hill Road, near its southern intersection with Clearview Drive at about 6:13 am March 20, attempted to pass in a no-passing zone southbound motorist Shawn Simmons, 33, of Southbury, who was driving a 2004 Chevrolet truck, police report.

As the Acura attempted to pass the Chevrolet, the Chevrolet moved to the left to prevent the Acura from passing, police said.

The two vehicles then collided. There were no injuries. Police said that Mayone attempted to pass in a no-passing zone and that Simmons failed to drive in the right lane.

Honda Hits Tree

About 11:16 pm March 20, motorist Mao F. Lin, 17, of Brooklyn, N.Y., who was driving a 2002 Honda sedan on Wasserman Way, lost control while negotiating a curve in the road and struck a tree, police said.

The Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps responded to the scene, but Lin refused medical attention, police said. The accident is under investigation.
