*Tickets will be on sale at 10 am Friday for a June 3 show by LINDA RONSTADT at The Chevrolet Theatre in Wallingford. Tickets are $45, $55 and $75. Opening set will be by America.

*On Saturday morning, tickets for PEARL JAM’s return to Connecticut will be going on sale. The band will be at Dodge Music Center in Hartford on Saturday, May 13, with special guests My Morning Jacket.

Tickets are $59.50 for reserved seats in the pavilion and $45.50 for the lawn area. These tickets will be sold for now only at The Chevrolet Theatre box office in Wallingford because the box office at the Dodge theater hasn’t opened for the season. They’ll also be available, as will be abovementioned Linda Ronstadt tickets, from any TicketMaster vendor and from LiveNation.com. (And I can’t let this slip by: Has anyone told Eddie Vedder that TicketMaster is involved?)

*The man who brought us “Jessie’s Girl,” and 16 other Top 40 hits – and made a guest appearance earlier this month on General Hospital, reprising his role as hunky Dr Noah Drake – will be performing at Mohegan Sun Arena on Sunday, May 21.

Tickets for RICK SPRINGFIELD will be on sale after 10 am Friday morning, all priced at $25.

*Tickets for Motown legend SMOKEY ROBINSON, who will also be at Mohegan Sun Arena, will also be going on sale this weekend. Robinson will be in Uncasville on Tuesday, June 20. Tickets for that show are $20 and $30, and will be on sale through TicketMaster and the arena’s box office (as are the Springfield tickets), beginning Sunday, March 26, at 10 am.

*THE CHRISTOPHER ROBIN BAND will be playing at Sal e Pepe, 97 South Main Street in Newtown, on Saturday, March 25, from 8:30 pm to 12:30 am. There is no cover charge, but reservations are recommended for dinner (426-0805)

Drawing from influences of classic rock, blues, country, folk, classical and bluegrass, the musician Christopher Robin started writing his own music at age 16, and this was after he picked up a guitar and taught himself to play at age 14. By age 18 he was studying with the independent luthier Brad Nickerson, and then built his own guitar; then hooked up with guitar legend Michael Hedges, traveled with THE GREGG ALLMAN BAND as their guitar tech, and by the time he turned 21 in 1999, he had recorded and released an album, Sinking Ship, with guests like Tommy Miller (bass player, Gregg Allman Band), Preston Thrall (percussion, GAB), Jelly Roll (guitar, GAB), guitarist Garth Webber (Miles Davis, Lee Oscar), vocalist and harmonica player Jimmy Hall (Wet Willie) and drummer Adam Weissman (Sweet Virginia).

This guy’s got the chops, and he’s going to be right here in Newtown this weekend. If you can’t make it to the Sal e Pepe show (but try to get there!), Robin is the regular host of Songwriters’ Night, held every Monday at Ray Kelly’s Pub in Bridgeport (2720 Fairfield Avenue, in the Black Rock section of the city; telephone 203-333-6278).

*Fresh off their recent show at Mohegan Sun Arena, INXS has already scheduled a return trip to Connecticut, this time to the Arena at Harbor Yard in Bridgeport.

Tickets for the return visit of the band’s Switched On Tour will be going on sale Saturday at noon, from the arena’s box office and all TicketMaster outlets. Prices for this show have been set at $39.50 and $49.50.

The arena box office will have a lottery wristband system running: Between 10:30 and 11:30 anyone already at the box office will be given a wristband. Promptly at 11:30, a number will be drawn and the holder of that number will be first in line. The line will form in order beginning with that number. Anyone arriving after 11:30 will be put in the back of the line.

*Also this weekend, AL KOOPER will perform at Fairfield Theatre Company’s StageOne on Saturday, March 25. While Al Kooper’s rich musical heritage has had him performing all over the world, his performance at FTC’s StageOne will mark his debut in Fairfield County.

Tickets for the 8 pm show are $32 ($22 for FTC members). The theater is at 70 Sanford Street, directly in front of the Fairfield train station. Call FTC’s box office at 203-259-1036 or visit FairfieldTheatre.org for additional information.

*Music at Mocha: The Sandy Hook coffee house will welcome FAIRFIELD CROSSING on Friday, March 31. This is a group that may only have started performing publicly a few months ago, but the professionalism and talent they bring to their shows belies their newness as a trio.

Fairfield Crossing is Julie Sorcek on vocals, flute, piccolo and bodhran; Erick Feucht on vocals, fiddle and mandolin; and Bill Campbell on back-up vocals, guitar and bass guitar. Bill and Erick are from Newtown, and Julie is from Bethel, which is where the group played a St Patrick’s Day show last weekend (at Plain Jane’s, followed by a private St Patrick’s Day party in Redding the following day). The trio plays what they call “a vibrant mixture of traditional and contemporary Celtic, New England and Appalachian vocals and instruments.”

Fairfield Crossing will be at Mocha on Friday, March 31, from 7:30 until 9:30 pm. They also have shows lined up at Starbucks in Newtown on April 8 (7-9 pm) and then at Molten Java Coffeehouse in Bethel on Saturday, May 19 (8-11 pm).

Until next week I’ll be seeing you... on the road.

Questions and comments should be sent to Shannon Hicks c/o The Newtown Bee, 5 Church Hill Road, Newtown CT 06470, or shannon@thebee.com, or call the office at 426-3141. Shows listed at club locations are for ages 21 and over unless specified.
