The Newtown High School Winter Guard team started its season the weekend of March 6. It then performed its show, “Evergreen Dreams,” last weekend, and the performance was recorded for judges’ feedback.

There will be no competitive aspects of this season; units will be only given ratings by two judge panels. Due to the inequality of rehearsal time and space and other COVID-19 related issues that may come up, the Musical Arts Conference (MAC) decided to forgo a competitive season. The idea is to give the performers an opportunity to perform and receive feedback.

Per a statement from MAC, “This is not exactly how we wanted to spend our 20th anniversary season, but like everything else in 2020, it will have to do. We will make the most out of it.”
