Promotions And New Staff Announced At Newtown Savings Bank
Newtown Savings Bank has announced a number of recent promotions, as well as additions to its staff.
John F. Trentacosta was promoted to chief operating officer after holding the position of president and chief financial officer of Newtown Savings Bank for the past several years. He originally joined the bank in 1998 to manage all financial operations, and now, as president and chief operating officer, oversees the entire operations management of the bank including the branch system, human resources, lending, marketing, IT and support departments. Mr Trentacosta, a certified public accountant, has an MBA in financial management from Iona College and lives in Newtown with his family. He is active in many local nonprofit organizations including the Newtown Rotary, and served as treasurer of the townâs Tercentennial Commission this past year.
Promoted to chief financial officer of Newtown Savings Bank, William McCarthy, who is also a vice president, has assumed all of the management and reporting responsibility within the finance area of the bank including the role of chairman of the ALCO Committee. He is also responsible for managing the bankâs investment portfolio. Mr McCarthy joined the bank in 1999 as a Senior Financial Analyst, and lives in Newtown with his family. He is a member of the Finance Council at St Rose of Lima Church and holds an economics degree from Fairfield University and an MBA in finance from Sacred Heart University.
Controller Isabel Boulanger has been promoted to vice president, and is now responsible for providing both internal and external financial reporting. In addition to managing the bankâs accounting functions in the finance department, she also oversees the day-to-day supervision of the departmentâs staff. A Danbury resident, Ms Boulanger has worked at the bank since 1995. She has a bachelorâs degree in accounting from Western Connecticut State University.
Dale Cuddy was also named a vice president. In this position, Ms Cuddy has assumed operational responsibility for the branch banking system including ensuring proper staffing, controls, and security. In addition she will be charged with guiding the development of the bankâs new call center. Ms Cuddy joined the bank in 1996 in the branch administration department. She lives in Waterbury with her family, and serves as treasurer of the Holy Cross High School Motherâs Club.
Promoted to vice president Delores DelVecchio, has provided technical support in the retail lending area since joining the bank in 2003. She has streamlined many of the bankâs lending systems and processes, and is currently assisting with the implementation of a new system that will enhance customer service. In addition, Ms DelVecchio is exploring new technology endeavors in an effort to continually improve the bankâs lending systems. She resides in Killingworth with her husband and has a degree from the Stonier Graduate School of Banking.
Promoted to vice president, Laura Manz is now responsible for managing all of the bankâs retail loan underwriting systems including the investor banking relationships. As the bankâs underwriting manager, her leadership will continue to assist in streamlining lending processes and broadening the array of loan product offerings. Ms Manz joined the bank in 1995, and lives in Southbury with her family.
Formerly the bankâs business development officer in the Danbury area since 2003, Karen Tracyâs new responsibility as vice president is to lead all of the bankâs branches in their sales and service efforts as part of a recent reorganization in the Retail Banking Division. She has held many leadership roles during her long banking career, and is active in numerous nonprofit organizations including Shelter of the Cross and United Way. A Waterbury resident, Ms Tracy is also an actress who has performed in many local productions.
Three employees, Jackie Aminti, Brian Healy, and Kim Dahm, were promoted to assistant vice president and James E. Cotter and Kathy Gugliotti were added to the bank staff.
Mr Cotter joined Newtown Savings Bank as senior vice president, Retail Banking Division. He oversees the division, including Infinex Investments and the future call center. He has more than 17 years of retail banking experience, most recently with Fairfield County Bank Corp. Mr Cotter holds a bachelor of science degree in finance from UConn and masterâs degree from the University of New Haven. He serves on the board of the Danbury Chapter of the Red Cross, and resides in Bethlehem with his family.
Ms Gugliotti, assistant vice president/corporate sales administrator, brings 18 years of bank marketing experience to Newtown Savings Bank, most recently with InsurBank. Her responsibilities will entail providing sales and marketing support including building and enhancing merchandising, and supporting deposit sales efforts. She received her undergraduate degree from Post University and holds and MBA from the University of Hartford. Ms Gugliotti and her family are longtime Southbury residents.
