Dodge Into Wall

Motorist Katherine Kokoski, 17, of 76 Jeremiah Road was driving a 1994 Dodge Spirit sedan eastward on Cedar Hill Road about 8:24 pm March 25, when she lost control of the auto, went off the eastbound road shoulder and then struck a stone wall, police said.

Kokoski reported pain and was checked by the Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps, police said. Newtown Hook & Ladder firefighters went to the accident. Police issued Kokoski an infraction ticket for making a restricted turn.

Deep Brook Accident

Motorist Jacqueline Ratzing, 17, of 13 Joan Drive, who was driving a 2005 Subaru Impreza southward on Deep Brook Road about 6 pm March 29, lost control of the auto while on a curve on the road, police said.

The Subaru went off the right side of the road and entered a ditch, police said. Ratzing was not injured. Police issued her a written warning for making a restricted turn.

Ford Vs Subaru

While traveling eastward near 98 Church Hill Road about 9:12 am March 24, motorist Kathryn Daugherty, 18, of 145 Head O’ Meadow Road took her eyes off the road and drove into an unoccupied 2003 Subaru Forester that was properly parked alongside the eastbound road shoulder, police said.

The damaged Subaru is leased for use by Jack H. Rosenthal, 85, of 101 Haley Lane, Walnut Tree Village, police said. Daugherty was not injured, police said.

Police issued Daugherty a written warning for making a restricted turn.

Botsford Rollover

Motorist Manuel Cruz Panza, 22, of Danbury was driving a 1994 Honda Accord sedan northward on South Main Street about 5:30 am March 26, when the Honda crossed into the opposite lane and struck the mailbox for 361 South Main Street, police said.

The Honda continued traveling northward on the southbound road shoulder, hitting a rock, rolling onto its right side, and then colliding with a six-foot-tall rock ledge outcropping at 350 South Main Street, police said.

Police said that Panza told them that he had fallen asleep at the wheel. Panza was wearing a seatbelt when the accident occurred.

Panza was examined at the scene by ambulance volunteers, but refused medical attention, police said. Botsford firefighters went to the accident to clean up an automotive fluids spill.

Police issued Panza an infraction ticket for failure to drive to the right and for driving without a driver’s license.

Tractor-Trailer

At about 6:48 am March 23, tractor-trailer truck driver Thomas Farrakhan, 29, of Philadelphia, Penn, was making a left turn from Route 34 onto Wasserman Way, when the truck collided with a 2003 Honda CRV driven by Mary Gralt, 58, of Bethlehem, which was stopped in the eastbound lane of Wasserman Way, police said.

Ambulance volunteers went to the accident to check Gralt, police said. Farrakhan received an infraction ticket for making a restricted turn.

Swamp Road

Motorist Karen Dancho, 42, of Monroe, who was driving a 1999 Honda Accord sedan westward on a snowy Swamp Road about 6:26 pm March 23, lost control of the auto on the slick road, police said.

The auto entered the eastbound lane, went into a spin, went off the eastbound road shoulder, struck a tree and then came to rest hanging over an embankment, police said.

Dancho was not injured. Police verbally warned her for traveling too fast for conditions.

MV Charge

Police report that they charged motorist Israel Lopez-Morales, 27, of Danbury with operating while under suspension on March 29. After processing the arrest, police released Lopez-Morales on $500 bail for an April 12 court appearance on the charge.
