Jupiter Symphony Chamber Players

To Perform April 9

DANBURY — The Jupiter Symphony Chamber Players will perform Saturday, April 9, at 8 pm, at Ives Concert Hall. The performance will be presented by Danbury Concert Association in cooperation with the university’s music department.

The group was founded by the late Jens Nygaard, an inspired and inspiring conductor and visionary who died in 2001. His musical legacy lives on, however, as this string and wind ensemble continues what its founder called “a marvelous journey through the universe of music.”

The April 9 performance will feature works by Mozart, Hummel and Beethoven.

Danbury Concert Association, a nonprofit organization that has brought live performances to the area for over 60 years, presents a series of four concerts in a season that spans fall and spring.

Admission is by subscription, at $32 per adult for the four-concert series. Through a grant from Danbury Cultural Commission, those 18 and under are admitted free. Guest tickets — for those who accompany subscribers or students — are $12 each and are available at the door.

For information, call 748-05222 or visit www.Danbury.org/concert. The concert hall is at 181 White Street, on the midtown campus of Western Ct State University.
