Kids Can Make A Difference

Relay For Life of Newtown is conducting a Kids’ Mascot contest, inviting elementary school children to create a creature that will become the town’s official Relay For Life mascot.

Children in grades kindergarten through fourth are invited to explore their imagination and creativity to come up with a mascot. The finalist will see his or her mascot creation unveiled on Saturday, June 11, at the opening ceremony for the event at Newtown High School that raises money for the American Cancer Society.

Children who would like to participate may use the entry form located at each participating school office. All entries will be collected no later than 10 am Tuesday, April 12. All entries should be in the school offices by then.

Voting will take place over a period of one week after the deadline date. Contest winner to be announced at the end of April.

Only one entry per artist is allowed. The winning artist will be receiving a pizza party for hir or her entire class.

Anyone who has any questions or who needs a form can contact Relay For Life of Newtown Children’s Ambassador Madison Erhardt or her mother, Lynne Erhardt, at 270-1460.
