Middle Gate After School Program

A Success

To the Editor:

The Middle Gate PTA would like to thank everyone who helped to make the 2005 After School Activities Program a great success. Thanks to many parent and student volunteers, a total of 228, or 45 percent of, Middle Gate students participated in 16 fun and exciting courses this year. Besides the ever-popular art, science, and karate classes which have been offered in past years, this year’s program also offered classes in cheerleading, chess, cooking, gymnastics, jazz/hip hop, Lego® creations, musical theater, origami, scrapbooking, and tennis.

We would like to thank Chris Schaeffer from the United Studios of Self Defense, Joanne and Bruce Hunter from The Art Spot, Linda Rehms and Melissa Ross from Mad Science, and Marcy Rubinstein from Marcy’s Tennis Academy for their continued support.

We would especially like to thank Anita Arnold from Newtown Youth Services for finding some of the most fun and energetic student volunteers to teach and help with the classes. Many thanks to Anthony Buonadonna, Jess Divano, Carly Doherty, Casey Gilbert, Ashley Jones, Jasper Ress, Cleo Schmidt, Stephanie Winkler, and Christina Wolf.

Special thanks to Melanie Beck, Maggie DeMarco, and Steven Petrovich from the NHS Drama Club. Without their support and dedication, the program would not have been such a great success.

Sincerely,

Denise Rodriguez
