The Newtown Deli concept features a menu of salads, soups, signature sandwiches, and wraps presented in a relaxed, family-oriented atmosphere. It offers a wide selection of fresh foods and premium Boar’s Head deli products that can be enjoyed at tables inside — and outside in the warmer weather — or grabbed to go. The specialty sandwiches offered include the Godfather (Italian cold cuts, lettuce, tomato, and peppers); Cool as a Cucumber (muenster cheese, cucumber, and mayo); and a grilled chicken Caesar wrap. There are a number of hot sandwiches, too, as well as homemade soups and salads, and side dishes like onion rings, mozzarella sticks, and sweet potato fries that are sure to whet the appetite.

A steam-table case is filled with a distinctive line of freshly prepared foods such as chicken francaise, Marsala, Dijon, or the popular chicken parmigiana. Other specialties include sausage and peppers, as well as roast pork, and pasta dishes. Friday specials always include fish dishes such as stuffed founder with hollandaise sauce, fried shrimp, clam strips, and fried calamari. An extensive catering menu is also available.

The commitment to quality and flavor is evidenced in the deli’s fresh, homemade ravioli — lobster, crab, shrimp, eggplant, broccoli rabe, cheddar and broccoli — available every Friday, and the mozzarella cheese made daily. The deli also brings in a large selection of bread from the famous Bronx bakeries and Italian sausage from Brooklyn.

Newtown Deli & Catering’s low carb menu is designed to meet customer requirements for healthy eating and diet planning. This menu includes a Greek salad topped with grilled chicken or shrimp, a grilled chicken parmesan low carb wrap (7 grams in the wrap), a gorgonzola salad with grilled steak, and a low carb wrap with eggs, peppers, onions, and mozzarella cheese.

Newtown students are offered a Students Club feature, where a 20 percent savings card is given; once five lunch sandwiches are purchased, the next one is free.

A Customer Appreciation Day is held annually, where free hot dogs, raffles, and entertainment are provided for all. The deli regular customers and future customers are invited to come and join in the fun.
