Claire Roseann Fowler

Loving Mother And Grandmother

Claire Roseann (Arcand) Fowler, 87, of Newtown, loving wife of the late Frank E. Fowler, died at Danbury Hospital, March 27. She was born in Montreal, Canada, June 11, 1923. She was the oldest daughter of Marie (Trembley) and Philip Arcand.

During her youth, she was an avid dancer and loved to roller skate. She immigrated to the United States in the 1930s, settling in Bethel, and spending summers on Candlewood Lake. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, The Eastern Star, and the Newtown Homemakers.

She traveled extensively with her husband, while he was assigned to the European Theater during World War II. She devoted herself to maintaining the family home for her husband and children. She also loved to knit.

She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Wendyann C. Fowler of Newtown; her son, Barry F. Fowler of Waterbury; one grandson; a brother and sister-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services took place at the Cornell Memorial Home, Danbury, March 31. Burial followed in Elmwood Cemetery, Bethel.
