Jim Mesinger

In Newtown

Jim Mesinger, 60, died in Atlanta, Ga., on March 28. He was born in Ossining, N.Y., June 27, 1950.

He had resided in Bethel, Brookfield, and Newtown, graduating from Newtown High School in 1968.  

Mr Mesinger graduated from Morse Business School in Hartford, and attended New Hampshire College. He was purchasing manager for Mesinger Manufacturing and Quality Food Oils before becoming owner-operator of Clean Carpets and Upholstery in Newtown.

Mr Mesinger had been member of, and one time president of, Bethel Kiwanis, and was a longstanding member of Newtown Country Club and Newtown Chamber of Commerce.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Nancy Miles Mesinger; two sons Dylan and Justin; a brother, Joseph; three sisters; Barbara, Linda, and Lori; and several in-laws, and nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews in Newtown.

Family and friends may call at the Mesinger home in Atlanta on Saturday, April 2, from 1 to 4 pm. Bright colored clothing, and no flowers, are requested. Memorial donations may be sent to Danbury Visiting Nurses Association, 4 Liberty Street, Danbury CT 06810.

Arrangements were handled by the Cremation Society of Georgia, Atlanta, Ga.
