Ladies Night Out Fashion Show Planned

SOUTHBURY â Home Instead Senior Care of Sandy Hook and Trumbull, and River Glen Health Care Center in Southbury will co-host a free Ladies Night Out Spring Fashion Show on Tuesday, April 5.

The event will run from 5 to 7 pm, at River Glen Health Care Center, 162 South Britain Road (Route 172). Fashions from Dress Barn of Southbury will be highlighted during the third annual presentation.

Staff members from local companies will be modeling the fashions, including representatives from Interim Health Care, Ridgefield VNA, The Hearth of Southbury, Southbury Senior Center, Diagnostic Radiology, Maplewood of Newtown, Newtown Senior Center, Woodbury Senior Center, and Home Instead Senior Care and River Glen Health Care Center, among others.

The Dress Barn fashions will be accessorized by Gayle OâNeill Fine Jewelry of Southbury. Light hors dâoeuvres will be served throughout the evening along with coffee, tea, wine and soft drinks. The Watermark at East Hill will provide a special chocolate fountain.

Door prizes will also be offered.

I say we vote it down again and see how creative they can get with the numbers.We all know plenty of fat is laced in the proposals.

I, too, love that flagpole. I approach it in the southbound lane, as Mr Gardner described, and it’s an inspiring way to start my day. In addition to all it stands for, it tells me something, whether it’s furling in the wind, or hanging quietly when weather is still, sometimes boldly majestic, sometimes sad or unsure. A gem like no other. I know it generates angst with traffic; approached with the appropriate level of caution, it should not be such a problem. Can’t really blame the flagpole, it doesn’t move. I hope it’s there long after I’m gone, and inspires others as well. Thank you Mr Gardner and all the other current, previous, and even future Keepers of the Flagpole.
