John M. Ross

John M. “Yock” Ross, 72, of Glen Apartments, Danbury, died March 30 at Danbury Hospital.

He was the brother of Marie Piskura of Newtown.

Mr Ross was born in Danbury, the son of the late John and Nellie (Moncella) Ross. He grew up in Danbury and had attended Danbury schools. John served in the US Army during the Korean War. In 1960, he moved to Texas and resided there until he moved back to Danbury in 1988. While in Texas, he had worked as a fisherman.

Mr Ross was a member of Catholic War Veterans and the American Legion.

He is survived by a daughter, Dawn E. Bogues and her husband, Paul, of Danbury; a son, Bruce M. Ross and his wife, Lynda, of Bethel; four brothers, Michael, Joseph, and Robert Ross, all of Danbury, and Carlo Ross of Florida; six other sisters, Tootsie Sostak and Florence Arrigone of Shelton, Susan Gervasoni of Danbury, and Francis Rudy, Dorothy Owens, and Annamae Gankos, all of Florida; five grandchildren, Rachel L. Bogues, Michael P. Bogues, Sara E. Bogues, Adam M. Ross, and Tara L. Ross; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service was held at St Peter Cemetery on April 3.

  Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury, was in charge of arrangements.
