Nominees must be 65 years of age or older, a resident of the state to be represented, and currently working at least 20 hours as a paid employee.

The winners must be willing to travel to Washington for the awards ceremony. Nominees should exemplify a positive work ethic and dependability. Nominations must be received by May 11, 2001.
