Annual Dinner Meeting

For Audubon Society

OXFORD — Lillinonah Audubon Society’s annual dinner meeting will take place on Thursday, April 26, at the Colonial Tavern, 24 Hawley Road in Oxford.

It promises to be a very festive occasion with a cozy fireplace setting, an excellent speaker and a tasty buffet featuring honey and orange chicken, seafood, crepes, stuffed manicotti, and a steamship round of beef. The public is invited to take part in the annual outing.

The topic for the evening will be “Bald Eagles in the State of Connecticut.” Julie Victoria, a popular speaker and biologist at the Department of Environmental Protection, will present a program on these magnificent raptors, which many have seen at Shebaug Dam but most know little about. Their story is an interesting one and will top off a special evening for the society.

In addition to the buffet, there will be vegetables, salads and desserts, as well as light appetizers and a cash bar. The charge for the evening will be $18 per person.

For reservations and directions, reservations are requested by April 24. Call 426-2607 for details.
