A Radio Program For Passover

Connecticut Public Radio will mark the Passover holiday by premiering an hour-long program called “A Taste of Passover” on Friday, April 14, at 8 pm. There will be a repeat airing on Saturday, April 15, at 9 pm.

“A Taste of Passover” celebrates the joy of Passover’s musical heritage in a fast-paced variety show. Under the artistic direction of Hankus Netsky, the founder and director of the world-famous Klezmer Conservatory Band, the encore presentation features Theodore Bikel, David Levine, and Chasia Segal, as well as orchestral, choral, and chamber ensembles from the New England Conservatory.

Recorded live in NEC’s Jordan hall, “A Taste of Passover” includes homespun and formal versions of music from the Passover repertoire with witty  commentary written by humorist Moshe Waldoks. The program features not only beautiful and uplifting music but also favorite Passover drinking songs, zany seder songs, and delightfully entertaining segments such as instruction for cooking the perfect matzo ball.

Connecticut Public Radio can be heard at 90.5FM (WPKT), 88.5FM (WEDW), and 99.5FM (W258AC).
