Health And Wellness Expo At NVCC

WATERBURY –– Naugatuck Valley Community College’s Office of Health Education and Disability Services will present a Health and Wellness Expo on Thursday, April 10, from 10 am to 2 pm, in Café West. Admission is free.

Interactive exhibits will include lung capacity screening, blood pressure assessments, cholesterol and glucose testing, chiropractic and posture screenings, and depression evaluations, as well as a variety of alternative wellness and healing techniques, such as Reiki, massage therapy, yoga and foot flexology.

More than 35 community organizations plan to participate, including: the American Heart Association, the American Red Cross, AIDS Project Hartford, Brain Injury Association of Connecticut, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Carolyn’s Place, Gambler’s Anonymous, the Greater New Haven Celiac Support Group, the Hartford Gay and Lesbian Health Collective, Info Line, Lupus Foundation, the Mental Health Association, Morris Foundation, Physicians’ Health and Wellness, Poison Control, Rob Nevins Weight Loss Program, Saint Mary’s Hospital, Safe Haven, Seven Dragons, Waterbury Police and Fire Departments, Waterbury Public Health, and Zilahy Chiropractic Center.
