An article in the March 28 edition of The Bee (“IPN: Cut Library, Police, Youth Services To Fund High School Addition”) incorrectly described a proposed budget cut presented by Independent Party of Newtown spokesperson Ben Roberts at the Legislative Council’s March 26 budget hearing. Mr Robert’s suggestion was to reduce the $515,240 budget line item for services and operating expenses at Fairfield Hills and not for “projects at Fairfield Hills” as the article stated.

In the same article, Town Finance Director Benjamin Spragg is quoted as saying a $97,000 item for technology was removed from the budget during selectmen deliberations. The item is currently in the 2008-2009 town budget.
