The Story And Art Of Matzah Baking

LITCHFIELD — Chabad of Northwest Connecticut will bring the amazing Model Matzah Bakery to Litchfield and its environs this month.

The Model Matzah Bakery is an exciting educational and fun experience for the entire family in which participants are able to experience the story and art of matzah baking. It features wheat stalks, brick ovens, millstones, etc, which are all setup to form an old style matzah bakery.

Dressed in baker’s hats, participants help with the entire process of matzah making, from winnowing and threshing to grinding and kneading dough. Following the making of the matzah, participants enjoy a model Seder as they enjoy their crunchy hot matzah with cool grape juice.

This year’s Model Matzah Bakery will be on Sunday, April 6, at Chabad Community Center, 7 Village Green Drive. The program will run from 10 to 11:30 am. The cost is $5 per participant and reservations are required.
