Carolyn Carbone Hanes, 68, of Monroe, formerly of Trumbull, beloved wife of the late Thomas Clark Hanes, died peacefully on March 31, with her family by her side. Born in Bridgeport on March 5, 1949, daughter of the late Eleanor and Louis Carbone, she was a Trumbull resident for many years prior to moving to Monroe.

Her children and their spouses, Christianne and Jason Golesky of Newtown and Jonathan and Sarah Hanes of North Carolina; cherished grandchildren, Jake, Owen, Hailey, and Peyton Golesky, and Halle and Thomas Hanes; brothers and their wives, David and Anita Carbone of Florida, William and Grace Carbone of Florida, and Mark and Tracie Carbone of California; and numerous nieces and nephews survive her.

Ms Hanes was a retired educator from the East Haven Public Schools. She and her late husband greatly enjoyed sailing to Block Island, R.I., with their children on their sailboat, Escapade. Her most enjoyable times were spent playing with her beloved grandchildren. A loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

A memorial service was conducted on April 3 at Trumbull Congregational Church.
