James M. Powers, Attorney at Law, LLC, of New Milford announces that, effective immediately, it will be attending to the clients of recently deceased Attorney Paul S. Lux of Lux & Timmel LLC in Newtown.

Attorney William C. Timmel will continue his practice independently in Newtown.

James M. Powers, Attorney at Law, LLC will continue to maintain an office in Newtown, in addition to the firm’s New Milford and Southport offices.

Shortly before his passing in March, Mr Lux was named “of Counsel” to James M. Powers, Attorney at law, LLC. Mr Lux had been working with the firm for several weeks to ease the transition of his clients. 

James M. Powers, Attorney at Law, LLC focuses in the areas of estate planning, estate and trust administration, income and charitable planning and elder law, which was also the strength of Mr Lux’s practice, as well as corporate and real estate transactions.

“We’re deeply saddened by Paul’s passing,” said James Powers. “Once we began working together, there was real comfort in how closely our practices and values aligned. His expertise and compassion are a great loss to our firm and our community.”

James M. Powers, Attorney at Law, LLC, is a successor to the law firm Powers & Powers, founded by the Honorable Suzanne L. Powers and John J. Powers more than 40 years ago in Bethel.
