The public is invited to join members of Ben's Lighthouse for a special volunteer meeting and open house this week.

Kelly Paredes, program manager for the non-profit organization named in memory of Ben Wheeler, said it will be “a unique meeting.”

The event is open to anyone interested in learning more about the organization and its mission, and for those who are interested in becoming involved.

The program will begin at 7 pm at The Inn at Newtown, 19 Main Street. A nonecumenical organization, Ben's Lighthouse is based out of Trinity Episcopal Church in Newtown. Its mission is to “foster all children’s potential to build a more compassionate and connected world. Children become architects of a changed society by practicing empathy, self awareness and volunteerism. Each child’s contribution, small or large, is a benefit to self and society.#HelpingIsHealing.”

For additional information contact Ms Paredes at 203-426-9070 extension 15 or KParedes@benslighthouse.org. Additional information is also available at .benslighthouse.org

Ben’s Lighthousewill hold an info session and, for those who are ready to sign up, an application session on November 17 for its July 2016 mission trip to Montana.
