Support The

Rooster Review

To the Editor:

On behalf of the Newtown Parent Connection, we cordially invite all in the community to participate in our Rooster Review Cocktail Party and Auction to be held at Rock Ridge Country Club on Saturday, April 29, beginning at 7:30 pm. Take a close look around Newtown and you’ll find 24 roosters adorning our local establishments.

Some of the most talented artists and generous sponsors have combined their efforts and produced some extraordinarily beautiful birds. Each rooster has its own unique personality, ranging from elegant to whimsical (and many themes in between). You are urged to visit the roosting spots and cast a silent bid on a bird that strikes your fancy! Rooster sites are listed in the brochures you will find in various locations around town. These silent ballots will set the opening bid for our live auction and party which will feature St Rose pastor Father Bob Weiss as auctioneer extraordinaire! Delicious food, beverages, and desserts will be the fare for the evening, promising to be great fun for all. Tickets are $30 per person and are available at the Booth Library, the Gym at Newtown (426-8591), or by calling Wendy Davenson at 241-2528. Please reserve now, since tickets are limited.

Support of the Rooster Review will enable the Newtown Parent Connection to provide additional public forums designed to strengthen families and assist in the prevention of substance abuse in Newtown and surrounding communities. We wish to thank those who have attended programs this school year, and the many volunteers who make the forums and workshops possible. Our hope is that through education and awareness, families are fortified and lives are saved.
