‘Garden Container Design Tips And Trends,’ With Town & Country Garden Club

Advanced Master Gardener and accredited organic land care professional Michelle MacKinnon will be returning to Newtown to present a program hosted by The Town & Country Garden Club on Wednesday, April 13, at Newtown Senior Center, 8 Simpson Street.

MacKinnon will present her program “Garden Container Design Tips And Trends.” A general meeting will start at 6 pm with the program beginning at 7.

For those who may want a change in their outside space but lack the confidence to throw out the “tried but true, MacKinnon will share information on new container products, plant combinations, and design “recipes” that could add some pizzazz to a front porch or back patio that looks a little tired.

MacKinnon is a trusted garden expert with a growing following. Her talks and articles have inspired hundreds of area residents to dig in, get dirty, and enjoy their gardens.

She is a UConn-certified Advanced Master Gardener and a member of Connecticut Chapter of Northeast Organic Farm Association CCNOFA). MacKinnon lives and gardens in Sherman.

The Town & Country Club designs, plants, and maintains the three traffic islands on Queen Street and Glover Avenue. Members, who are interested in learning about plants, gardening, and design, are also active in many community endeavors that promote sound gardening practices.

Evening programs are free and open to the public.
