EMT Training Course Planned
EMT Training Course Planned
The Newtown Ambulance Corps is sponsoring a 120-hour emergency medical technician (EMT) course that will be held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and several Saturdays beginning April 29.
The purpose of the course is to train EMTs for Newtownâs volunteer ambulance service, which is in need of additional trained personnel to meet the increasing number of medical emergency calls in town. The training is also an excellent opportunity for anyone to learn the skills that can actually save lives.
The class will meet from 6 to 11 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and on Saturdays from 9 to 4. The first class will provide cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training, which is a requirement for EMT training. Classes run through July 20.
The course fee, $325, includes the textbook. To sign up, or for more information, call Debbie Aubin at 426-6874.
