Brubeck Brothers In Danbury Concert, April 30
Brubeck Brothers In Danbury Concert, April 30
DANBURY â The Association of Religious Communities (ARC) will hold a benefit concert on Sunday, April 30, at 3 pm, at St. James Church, 25 West Street. The event is planned as a celebration of ARCâs 25 years of community work in the greater Danbury area.
The Brubeck Brothers Quartet will headline the 3 pm concert Sunday afternoon. The quartet consists of four versatile musicians, two of whom are sons of the legendary jazz artist Dave Brubeck. Together and individually, the brothers have received international recognition for their extraordinary talent, and present a unique blend of original compositions, well-known jazz standards, and Dave Brubeck classics.
Chris and Danny Brubeck are both accomplished musicians in their own right, with many television, recording, and concert appearances to their credit. In addition to their solo careers, they perform regularly with their father on recordings and concert tours. Pete Levin on keyboards and Mike deMicco on guitar round out the group with their innovative jazz stylings.
In cooperation with faith communities, local businesses and individuals, ARC has contributed to the community in many ways, from helping resettle southeast Asian refugees, to counseling perpetrators of domestic violence and children who witness it, to facilitating the Emergency Aid Network for people in financial crisis.
Tickets are $25 for the concert only, or $40 for the concert and a post-concert reception. All proceeds will benefit ARC. For more information or to order tickets, call 203/792-9450.
