Multiple Charges
After learning police had a warrant for his arrest, Vincent Marini, 29, of Sherman, turned himself in at the police station at 3 pm April 13.
In connection with a 1999 incident, police charged Marini with failure to appear in court. They also charged him with two counts of possession of marijuana, and one count each of possession of drug paraphernalia, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, and operating a motor vehicle while under suspension.
After posting a $2,500 bond, police released Marini for an April 20 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
MV Violations
Police report they charged James Baxtor, 20, of Norwalk on April 12 with operating a motor vehicle while under suspension and misuse of a marker plate.
Police released Baxtor for an April 25 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
I-84 Collision
State police report a two-car accident on eastbound Interstate-84 about 5:20 pm April 12 west of Exit 9 in Hawleyville.
Motorist Paul L. Marquis, 30, of Oakville, who was driving a 1994 Chevrolet eastbound in the left travel lane, was struck from behind by eastbound motorist William E. Burke, 40, of Wolcott, who was driving a 1997 Saturn SC-2, state police said.
Mr Burke told state police he had a minor wrist injury but refused medical treatment. State police said Burke was following too closely.
Exit 11 Ramp
State police report a two-car accident at the end of the Interstate-84 Exit 11 off-ramp about 7:40 am April 11.
Motorist John Ceccolini, 37, of Middlebury, who was driving a 1997 Chevy Blazer, was leaving the end of the ramp and turning right onto Mile Hill Road when he was struck from behind by motorist Liza Britton, 28, of Watertown, who was driving a 1998 Honda Accord, state police said.
There were no injuries. State police said Britton was following too closely.
Lawn Statuary
Police report that two lawn statues were found April 17 on Washbrook Road behind Sand Hill Plaza. The statues are a black Doberman pinscher dog and a small boy who is fishing. The owner of the lawn statues may claim them at the police station.
Mile Hill Road
Police report a two-car accident on Mile Hill Road near the I-84 commuter parking lot April 12.
Police said motorist David W. Pond, 53, of 5 Misty Vale Road, who was driving a 1993 Oldsmobile Cutlass station wagon, was attempting to make a left turn out onto Mile Hill Road from the parking lot when he collided with motorist Shuk K. Lam, 43, of 18 Birch Rise Drive, who was driving a 1997 Dodge Caravan on Mile Hill Road.
There were no injuries. Police issued Pond a written warning for failure to grant the right of way.

Vehicle Charges
Police filed multiple motor vehicle charges April 18 against a Danbury woman.
Police said they charged Alice F. Moore, 39, on a warrant with failure to appear in court, illegal operation of a commercial motor vehicle, and operating a motor vehicle without a license, plus marker plate, license, and registration violations. The charges stem from a 1998 incident.
Police released Moore on a $175 bond for a May 2 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
Marijuana
Newtown High School officials found a student to be in possession of a substance suspected of being marijuana and contacted police April 19, police said.
Police said they tested the substance and charged William Demenna, 16, of 3 Farmery Lane, with possession of marijuana about 2:30 pm.
Demenna is scheduled to appear in Danbury Superior Court April 27, police said.
Bad Check
Police said they charged Peter Horelick, 25, of 14 Edge Lake Drive, Sandy Hook, on April 18 with issuing a bad check.
Police said Horelick issued a bad check in the amount of $450 to Berkshire Veterinary Hospital, 1 Toddy Hill Road. Horelick is scheduled to appear in court May 2 to answer the charge.
Coin Phone Theft
Police report they charged Newtown High School student Matthew Fries, 17, of 31 Zoar Road, on April 19 with sixth-degree larceny in connection with the theft of a section of a coin telephone.
Police said the theft occurred April 17 at the high school when a SNET telephone technician had the coin phone disassembled for repair work. The hardware stolen did not contain the telephoneâs coin vault, police said. Police said high school security staff made them aware of the incident.
Police released Fries on a promise to appear April 26 in Danbury Superior Court.
