Charles C. Anderson
Charles C. Anderson, 65, of Newtown, died Friday, April 14, in the Connecticut Hospice, Branford. He was the husband of Vera Ann Saul Anderson of Newtown. Mr Anderson was born in Bridgeport and was a lifelong area resident.
Before retiring, he was a Bridgeport police officer for 28 years.
A US Marine Corps veteran, he served during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Police Benevolent Association and the Police Association of Connecticut. He also was a member of the Blue Knights and of the Ashlar-Aspetuck Lodge No 142 AF & AM.
Survivors besides his wife include a son, Charles C. Anderson, Jr, of Arlington, Texas; his mother, Ann Yamnicky Anderson of Stuart, Florida; two brothers, Herbert and Harold Anderson, both of Stuart, Fla; a sister, Barbara Silhavy and her husband, Joseph, of Easton; four nephews and one great-niece. He was predeceased by a brother, Robert Anderson.
A funeral was held on April 18 at Salem Lutheran Church, Bridgeport. Burial was in the Ridge Cemetery in Redding Ridge.
The Larson Funeral Home, 2496 North Ave., Bridgeport, was in charge of arrangements.
