NEW MILFORD â On Wednesday, April 26, at 1 pm, New Milford Visiting Nurse Hospice and Mothers Against Drunk Driving will join 2,000 other organizations across the United States and Canada as a local host for the Hospice Foundation of Americaâs sixth annual National Bereavement Teleconference.
âLiving with Grief: Children, Adolescents, and Loss,â a live-via-satellite video teleconference, will focus on helping children and adolescents cope with loss and grief. The teleconference will take place at White Hall, Western Connecticut State University.
The program will offer insight and practical suggestions for those assisting young people with issues that include death, serious illness, divorce, and other traumatic incidents.
The program will be moderated by Cokie Roberts of ABC News and will feature a panel of experts. The teleconference is produced by Hospice Foundation of America, a non-profit organization established to assist those who cope either personally or professionally with terminal illness and the process of death, grief, and bereavement.
Last yearâs teleconference was seen by more than 150,000 people in over 2,000 communities.
The live satellite conference will be followed by a panel discussion of local grief experts, clergy, counselors, and Hospice personnel. Advance registration is required.
