Women’s Health Lecture At UConn

FARMINGTON — Strengthening your immune system with herbs and improving sexual health and fertility are the topics of a lecture for women by one of the world’s leading experts on Ayurvedic medicine at the University of Connecticut Health Center Friday, April 29, at 5:30 pm. The lecture will be held in the Health Center’s Patterson Auditorium.

Manjari Dwivedi, MD, PhD, is professor and head of Women’s Health and Ob/Gyn at the School of Ayurvedic Medicine, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India. She specializes in various aspects of women’s health including fertility and sexual dysfunctions.

In her one-hour lecture, Dr Dwivedi will present the Ayurvedic approach to health and wellness and how to maintain physical, mental, and sexual balance. She will also discuss different herbs that may be helpful in maintaining energy, health and vitality.

Ayurvedic medicine is the world’s oldest comprehensive medical system and is indigenous to India where it is widely practiced. It is now one of the widely practiced disciplines of alternative medicine in the world.
